Shiatsu

Shiatsu (Shi = Finger  atsu = Pressure)

Shiatsu is based on a combination of Acupuncture, a Chinese massage technique called Amma and Western Massage. Instead of using needles to work with points along the meridian channels, the Shiatsu practitioner applies pressure using the palm, fingers, elbows or knees.

Similar to acupuncture, Shiatsu concentrates on un-blocking the flow of your life-force energy and restoring balance in your meridians and organs to promote your bodies’ natural ability to heal itself.

Shiatsu stimulates blood flow and lymphatic flow while creating a sense of relaxation that can linger for days. The benefits of Shiatsu may include the strengthening of your body’s immune system and the reduction of pain.

The typical Shiatsu session lasts for 75-90 min. It is performed with the client fully clothed while on a futon on the floor and we often incorporate stretches and movement throughout the session. When receiving a Shiatsu massage we recommend that you wear loose-fitting clothes.

Treatment cost is $95 per session.
